So it’s confirmed.
ABS-CBN reports that the stomach-churning death of Dr. Mary Ann Magtoto, 34, a dentist who died after falling from the 6th floor of the Shangri-La mall all the way down to the Grand Atrium, was a suicide.
In a sworn statement made to the Mandaluyong City police, a British national asserted that he saw the victim climb over the railing of the escalator before plummeting to her death.
An anonymous commenter in my previous entry, who claimed to actually be at Shangri-La when the incident occurred, said that Dr. Magtoto was screaming all the way down.
What a gruesome end.
I suppose this brings new meaning to the term “jumping to conclusions.”

Thanks for this blog post. I was really affected by this incident since Shangri-La is my family’s favorite mall. Not to mention, we always eat at 6th floor. Nevertheless if she committed suicide or not, from now on I’d be more careful while riding the escalator. May God Bless her soul.
condolence to her family…..it was a shocking incident……and we’re scared of it….We’ll be more careful not only in riding the escalator but “SA LAHAT NG FACILITIES” when ur inside he mall……again condolence……

sir JR, what have you found out? I’ve also watched GMA7 interviewed girl’s mom and she said it’s not suicide ‘coz she talked with her daughter before the purported suicide thru cellphone.
yup pwede ba naman nahinagis siya ng dalawa lalaki like yung claim ng iina di dapat ang dami nakakita nun bugok ang gago nya yup suicide definitely
